Yes, LED lights do work even for full cycle. The 5w diodes really help. LED is certainly not the most cost efficient but neither was HID 30 years ago. I'm looking forward to final results and smoke report. I'm sure you'll do better next time now that you're more familiar with LED...

What I am not looking forward to is removing the light and modifying the fixture as my space is cramped and hard to get in and out of.
I did buy some small dual pulleys to improve how the light is raised as it was a hassle to have to lift the light with one hand and pull on the rope with the other.
