New models a myth?

I've heard through other sources that California Lightworks is coming out with new updated models. I haven't been able to confirm this with them directly at all so I'm beginning to think it isn't true. Has anyone heard about this at all?

No, it's true. They are coming but I don't know when. I was able to find out a bit about them.

The SS800w is now the SS880w.
The SS400w is now the SS440w.
The SF200w is now the SF220w.
The SF100w is now the SF110w.

Plus new diodes, drivers and power supplies. Prices will vary. Still 5w diodes...

I'll review them if I get my hands on them. ;)

Thanks, SisterMaryElephant. :D I'll just have to be patient then. I'm making the switch from HPS and really like the reviews coming from California Lightworks. I was going to grab the 400w but if the 440w is coming out soon, I'll wait it out. ;)

thanks again,

SME... I got my hands on this report recently. Please review the attachment and see if any of this testing makes sense to you.

They compare HID, HPS, and LED it appears. University of Utah did the study. This is an old one and I have heard that a new one has been done as well. These new results will be updated in 60-90 days. It was the same study with different "competition."

Oh, well... this forum will not allow for me to upload a PDF for your review. I tried; it was very scientific and objective.

If you provide me an e-mail address, I will send it to you. I would have to say that (from my understanding at least) you are very correct in many of your comments and observations.

You'll be able to post links to information after you have a few more posts. I forget what the settings are now.
