Hi all. Nice looking forum too!

I'm looking to build my own light - a selection of diodes, appropriate drivers and all.
Obviously efficiency is key....

Any one wish to help me compile like a dream spec / design list of desirable features?

With real un biased knowledge from the community we might be able to achieve something that commercial manufacturers can't.

To start:
I was thinking to go with a 1 Watt (ish) LED choice initially as I won't be looking to grow tall plants and burn as little power as possible

e.g. Wavelengths to cover....

Best regards

Rob

Hey Rob -

The place to start when researching wavelengths is to take a look at photosynthetic pigments. There are 6 of them and each one has pretty a specific absorption spectrum and peak. Targeting those peaks, I think, will get you about 95% there.

Check out:

Hello , robchenski and all .
Because wavelengths of led grow lights are different than normal LEDs ,chips for led grow lights are always be high power and high degree of integration ,so most of led grow lights are high power ,low power LED grow light ,such 1 watt LED grow lights, are really hard to find .
Hope you will get it .
