YMMV...

Ozone reacts with carbon to form carbon dioxide at any temp:

C + 2 O3 >>>>> CO2 + 2 O2 :P

At low levels it is absolutely safe and effective keep it at .05 umol/mol and have no issues/ BUT i dont like chancing anything during flower , and I have seen it stunt flowering due to HIGH levels.........whatever works for you

there is no one right way to grow.......absolutely........so SME when are you switching to leds????? aren't you tired of growing trees yet:P

These Ozone debates have been going on for over a decade....

Ozone does react with carbon but I think it breaks CO2 into something else. O3 + CO2 != CO2 + O3 or are you saying that CO2 breaks O3 into O2 + O?

As far as being "safe and effective" studies show otherwise:
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has declared that there is "evidence to show that at concentrations that do not exceed public health standards, ozone is not effective at removing many odor-causing chemicals" or "viruses, bacteria, mold, or other biological pollutants." Furthermore, its report states that "results of some controlled studies show that concentrations of ozone considerably higher than these [human safety] standards are possible even when a user follows the manufacturer’s operating instructions."

I have no plans to switch to LED, at this point, but I do plan on testing some in the future. Every growing decision we make from SOG to trees has pros and cons... ;)

Frank still needs to look up Sister Mary Elephant as well as Cheech and Chong. ;)

As far as the screen goes, I'm guessing 18-ish" but, as I've said, I'm not a SCROG guy so you might get better input from others. Indicas can double, sativas *can* triple.

Should I be under the influence when I check it out?

Here's the full setup again:

I covered the top of the res with towels until the orca film gets here.

You don't have to be medicated but it seems to make it funnier. :P

(and, no, I'm not really a nun either...)

A nun growing weed.

That'd get me into a church.

I don't know which video you saw but the original SME was from their record Big Bambu in 1972, the video from 78 wasn't the same skit: v=Aa3HXdqNWIM

Moving along nicely Frank....give the girls more time before deciding on lower growth removal IMO.

Not going to discuss ozone treatments with you SME, as you already have stated we will agree to disagree; everything in excess is harmful:-P

So Frank have you thought about using CMH bulbs as an option for you?

My construction helper decided to leave to Cuba for 10 days so I haven't given that more thought.

Since I'm going with two 1000w though, aren't HPS better suited?

Psuagro:
You're also ignoring the fact that, as quoted, "safe levels" of O3 aren't effective for odor/pathagen removal and you ignore the interaction of CO2 with O3 because it doesn't help your argument. O3 is good, just not INSIDE the grow room, especially when supplementing CO2. :D

Frank:
CMH technology seems to have some merit but I'm not interested at this point. I don't like magnetic ballasts (personal choices) anymore although I still have some. The Solis Tek Matrix series is *very* nice and that's my new replacement of choice when my mag ballasts finally die.

HPS has been tested and we know that it works. CMH is still too new for me to bother with at this point. While is is a *fact* that plants veg better under MH and that a combination of MH/HPS even helps during flower; I know many commercial growers, including myself, that run HPS full cycle with good results. The higher intensity of HPS compared to MH makes up for the difference in spectra, even in veg. Running *just* HPS makes things very simple and I certainly wouldn't flower without HPS so I might as well run it the whole way. ;)

I'm not telling you (nor anyone else) NOT to buy MH/CMH, use them if you want but it will make your lighting more complicated. More spare bulbs to buy, stock and change out and more ballasts to buy and run. If you keep spares then you'll have to stock more ballasts too. As I keep saying; there is no one right way to grow and every growing decision we make has pros and cons.

Hope that helps...
