You'll probably want to keep the pH closer to 5.8 you don't want to go below 5.6, imho.

The algae on the RW usually isn't dangerous but it is eating the nutrients and using some of the CO2, not that there isn't enough to go around. You can cover the tops of cubes with virtually any lightproof material (like panda film) and that will help. They even make rockwool covers designed to block the light that you can buy but they're easy to make too.

SME. Thank you for your time in looking at my endeavor. I will keep my PH around 5.8, I found it difficult to find consistent information on PH with rock wool plus I didn't leach it properly prior to planting and had the light about 14" for first 3 weeks.
My focus here is to be able in this small area to grow enough MM to sustain me through the year with 2 growing per year. Estimate to be 1 to 1 1/2 pounds a year. I believe this is obtainable without trying to get close to a perpetual harvest. I am rural so almost all has to be mail order. So we are taking a run at this with a SOLAR FLARE 200 WATT FULL CYCLE let see what happens. and thanks again. rbt.

You probably should have gotten the SS400w if you need that much yield in 2 grows/year but live and learn. ;)

Here is 4 week veg, the end of 2 week flower. Rock Wool with a ebb & flow system, HEAVY 16 nut's. 2x2 tent. I am not able to determine the sex of these plants yet, I am sure more experienced can On the third picture with my hand in it. It seems that almost every plant has a huge amount of growth like a cola. It appears the Solar Flare is penetrating drown through the canopy but there is not much growth can I except vertical for a couple more weeks?

The flowering stretch usually only lasts 2-4 weeks depending on strains...

SME, If you would like to move me over to grow journal or wait till my next endeavor after the new year it would be ok with me. I found it difficult for me to find information on the Solar flare so I started here thanks for the forum.

Since you're well into flower, I'll just leave it here for now, you can start a new journal in the CLW section later. ;)

:ugeek: : Azadirachtin Products are NOT safe 'during' flower!

I have tied down the plants to get more vertical sprouting. However I have been attending hydro shops in the area are having promotions venders raffles good times seeing what's available. The concern is the "NATURAL" oils they use as pesticides such as neem oil and it contains a natural compound Azadirachtin they have been pushing this stuff as natural and it is, and when heated into a gas such as burning it turns toxic.
here are some studies in Europe where this has become a problem with heavy smokers

This is not good for medical users

Here is mid week 5 of flower I think they should be further along but this is my first time. All plants are showing signs but the one on left rear show very little flower and it is stretchy. I don't know if I should keep tying down with clips and wire/wrap of get a scrog net or how long this flower will last. I put a heavy bag up on my light bar unsecured if it fell  and it did not once but twice :o And still I need help pointing out the obvious  They recovered nicely :D

Maybe they needed to veg longer (one reason I like clones) and the genetics were pretty old.

Are you sure that you don't have any light leaks in the tent delaying flower production? Total dark?
