First time grower:
I have been researching LEDs. I have a small 2x2x5 flowering space and same size separate veg space. I will be vegging under two 24w t5s to get started from seed. I plan on using the t5s for clones and small veg plants .. I will be growing small plants. I will be working towards a small SOG. I know LEDs out perform CFLs even on a small scale, so that is why I am hereā¦.Please help ...after about 2 wks strait research..I am losing my mind!!
I do not want a CHEAP light just an affordable and effective one. Ideally in the $150 to $250.00, but willing to go higher.
I have found a Dorm Grow G8-90RR ufo 120 degree lens for $150 ( BridgeLux). However, it only uses the red spectrum 630nm & 660nm. I will only be using the light for flowering. Do I need to have the blue spectrum???? It has 90 1watt lights, & from what I have found this not necessarily a bad thing for small grow show.
I have found the Diamond DS100 11 band for $300.I believe Cree.
GoBlue has a 144 watt ufo for $250 and a 225 watt ufo for $350( Epistar)
with Blue 430nm,460nm, Red 630nm, 660nm,
& 6000k.....60 & 90 degree lens
The CWL Solarflare 100w Bloom Booster 20 5watt for $250
Of course there are the Blackstar and ToeTronics in the $150 range, but most info says stay away from them despite "some" good reviews.
I can afford a little higher price ranges for a bloom, if it will get good yield, and as long as I should be good with the t5s for vegg.
I am not sure... Please help with suggestions or information on products..
It really seems like the Dorm Grow is the best deal( if it will yield ), but it is missing the blue spectrum..Do I need it to maximize yield in small grow show???? and remember guys this is a small grow show just for my personal use...Thanks
