LED virgin and first grow

Ok I'm newbie when it comes to growing and LED lights.
My current first grow setup is as follows:

Grow tent: 60x60x180cm
x2 WW plants, currently in day 39 of my grow.
I started my grow off with a HPS 400w light (Way to big a light for my grow tent and had also sorts of heat problems)

I recently picked a cheap 2nd hand 300w 9Band chinese LED light which I started using 5 days ago instead of the 400w HPS.
I know the LED light won't be pushing out a true 300w, but so far the plants have responded to the LED's very well.
I've currently got the LED light hung roughly 15" above the plants canopy and I am about to switch to flowering any day now.

My question is would the so called chinese LED light I have be enough to flower my two plants?
Current height of both plants is roughly 10".

I'd also be interested to know, if there are any UK based LED growers on these forums as
I am very keen to get some recommends on better branded LED lights available in the UK.

hey gingerb,

i'd be interested in knowing the actual wattage draw. according to my conversion, your tent is 2 ft by 2 ft for 4 sqft. let's say that the actual draw is 240 watts. so that would be 60 watts/sqft. which is really good for flowering. what will be lacking is the penetration of the LED. i would switch to 12/12 immediately. your plants will probably at least double in size to 2 to 3 feet tall.

have you thought about using the HPS in some type of air-cooled reflector? if you could switch the LED out for the HPS maybe halfway thru flowering, you'd probably get much better results. or just do the LED all the way and then you will have a baseline for your next grow. and try to improve upon those results

not sure about any other UK growers here.
good luck! RKY

It's unlikely that the cheap chinese 300w light would have an actual draw of 240 or even 200w. If they have 1w diodes I wouldn't even bother, if they have 3w diodes then I would prune them shorter (10") and wait a week before flowering. If they had 5w diodes (not likely) then I'd flower immediately or prune a little and give it a week.
