Opinions On My New Lights (TopLED) And Qs

100x3 "Old Style" Lights from TopLED. I purchased 2 of these. Only $100 Each including Yo-Yo hangers. So far having them less them 24 inches bleached the leaves. Moved back to 30 inches and no more bleaching. Anyway has anyone else grown with these?

Is anyone using other TopLED products and how do you like them. Would like to stick with a brand if they are good. Price is an issue. I can't afford to spend $1000++ on a light. That is another reason I like TopLED so far. Also very fast, efficient, and friendly. Easy to deal with.

Is it true that LED grows like it to be warmer. Closer to 85?
Is it true LED grows like a little more Cal/Mag?
Could LED cause what looks like Nitrogen or magnesium deficiency?

They're the same cheap chinese light clones as made for dozens of other companies.

3w diodes are kind of weak compared to 5w and larger diodes, I wouldn't let the plants get very tall before flowering. Less than 10" since they won't penetrate well.

There is a theory that warmer temps help yield with LED but it hasn't been proven. 82-83, not sure about 85.
No, light choice has nothing to do with nutrient uptake. Strains may vary on needs though.
See above...

Any opinions on TopLED newer 5w Diode "Mars II" Series. Some good grow journals on them from people so I guess they work. Just trying to sort truth from Sales talk :-)

They're horribly inefficient with their "400w" light having an actual draw of 170-200w and that won't cover very much area at all. There's a reason they're cheap.

Personally, I'd avoid them.

I totally agree with YpsiGro, I think its more of a sales thing than other; On the other hand, I've seen a few legit blogs reporting positive results... hard to tell I guess.

I'd be suspicious based on the light's poor efficiency (also when people post from web hosting proxies (even *more* suspicious when the first email they tried to register from was already known, reported and blocked for spamming so they had to create another))...but I guess results are subjective.

YMMV... ;)
