Thanks SME,
It will be fun to see the differences and similarities, between the lights and it will be a much better use of the space in the tent.

roughly 300 watts of HPS (600 HPS setup @ 50%) <--- do you think that is a fair comparison? I also have 75% setting around 450 watts or full?

There was no ducting because I was lazy. haha! and the temps got high...
now that I have it set up so there is positive pressure on the hood and insulated duct on the output the temps are only 2-3 deg higher than before. :D :D
carbon filter --> vortex fan --> flex duct --> hood --> insulated duct --> out

 DAY 17 LED
 DAY 3 HPS
(i had to hang them side ways to fit... )

looking good CL!
nice comparison. what ballast gives you 50%,75% ? pretty neat feature. I would say as close to the output of the SS400. Too bad you can't add 2 UVB bulbs with the HPS which would make them almost equal.

I saw your comment about SCROG and how you thought you were doing it wrong. I think I know what you are talking about. I always thought a SCROG was just up into a wire screen. But I think what you are really supposed to do is weave the buds back under the screen. Start them all at one end of the screen and let them fill up the whole screen. Is that what you were talking about? Just curious. I was always scared to bend them back under. I didn't want to break them in half.

thanks for stopping by and posting, it makes it worth posting. As for the ballast, I use a ((quantum digital ballast 600w)) , BIG AND ORANGE :) it will show up on an ebay search and you will be able to see the little knob to adjust the brightness @ 50%, 70% and 100%. It is a nice feature, but this is the first time I have used it. normally just run it at 100%, seems to be working fine so far though.

There are numerous ways I feel like I was scroggin wrong. I have never tried to weave them down like you said that would be cool to try! I would just be so worried about breaking them as you mentioned.

What I want to do next run is train WAY more in veg. I’m going to build like a little scrog frame w/ no screen and train branches outward with wire so when its time to flower I can then remove that training frame and then put 6” netting over the tops just to help support them.

I was trying to tie them down too much using the stretch in the 12/12 flip transitional period to fill out the screen, I don’t really wanna trim on them too much when they are starting to flower so by training them more in veg you can select just a certain # of tops, which will get fatter than the clusters of tops I have.... i hope..
Have a great day all.

Chroniclogical wrote:hey there RKY. sorry for the long lapse in the response.. but with only one person posting in 2 weeks... and 13 views... it is barley worth posting this here.. more of a waste of time compared to somewhere with more traffic.... :?

Anyways, thanks for stopping by and posting, it makes it worth posting...

With no updates for two weeks it's hardly worth reading as far as "journals" go. If you want to whine about the amount of traffic (this *IS* a low-volume forum) here then maybe you should post more. ;)

We watch, we learn, we are the silent majority of web readers.
Didn't CLW give you a price break for you to post?
