Pictures taken 01/20/14 2 days into week 1

Notes:

- some new pics for you. sorry about the quality. I am not good with a camera and probably need to shoot the plants with a standard light in the room.

-flipped 01-18-14

-pictures taken 01-20-14. so the plants are about 5 days into flower.

-temperatures in the room has been in the 50's during light off and mid to high 60's during light
on. I looked for a radiator type heater but they took all the winter supplies out of every single store i visited a few days earlier.

- see post above for height measurements at the end of each week. Not impressive due to the cold growing conditions.

No pictures taken at end of week 3 02/07/14....

Notes:

-all things considered i am pleased SO FAR.

-plants are gorgeous

-electric usage is minimal.

-temp of hood while running in flower mode is right at 72 degrees

- when i flipped the plants were between 10-14 inches tall. As of tuesday they ranged from about 15" to 26" if memory serves me correctly.

- have all the wood and hardware to put the unit in a corner. Should be ready by monday. Even have a white shower curtain under the plants.

- if i had to guesstimate my guess is we are looking at a half pound give or take on the yield. Hard to tell at this point.

No pictures taken at end of week 4 02/14/14....

Notes:

-warning will robinson warning. warning will robinson. all systems down. we had an ice storm here and i was without electricity for 3 days. the grow got down under 40 degrees for those 3 days. at least it came during the bud set portion of flowering.

- for what its worth... tom flowers in a study he did, indicated that long periods of darkness during the bud set portion actually help increase bud sites.

- for most of the flowering and some of the vegetative cycle the room temperatures have hovered below 70 degrees.
the weather has been all over the place. better temperature control would have definitely improved the growth of these plants.

Pictures taken at end of week 5 02/21/14....

Notes:

- plants and the light have been relocated to a corner to improve light intensity.

- they have been staked using 3 foot bamboo stakes.

- they are set up for a 6 ft squared foot print meaning the center of the footprint is 3 ft from the walls.

- i can see that this is too large of a footprint. i will move the light and the plants to accommodate a 5 ft square foot print and see how i like that.

- at 5 ft i will have a ( 60-40 div by 2 ) 10" buffer for air movement and for reflection all-the-way around the perimeter of the plants. if that still is too large i will drop down to a 4.5 ft footprint giving me a 7" buffer all-the-way-around.

- i have also added a white shower curtain under the plants to increase reflection and for ease of cleanup.

- i still need to finish the two panels i am making to completely enclose the grow. i will be using panda plastic for now. at some point i would like to go with orca film.

- the rootballs have started to fill in at the surface on most of the plants. i will take pictures of the root balls at the end of the cycle for general information.

-to do list..... finish portable panda panels, move light.

Pictures taken at the end of week 6 02/28/14....

Notes:

- well i am into week 7 which should see the buds that have been set from weeks 3,4 and 5 start to bulk up.

- the last two weeks ( 8 and 9) should see them gain the most size and weight.

-saturday 03/8/14 i will turn on the uv lights and look for GIANT TRICHOMES to start popping up all over the place. hehe.

-vic high a friend of mine successfully used uv light to create his first batch of romberry seeds as well as other strains. i had 6 keepers out of the first 10 seeds i tried. they were tiny white seeds that looked like they were TRASH. to this day they were the most vigorous seeds i have ever germinated bar none. lets hope that these uv lights add some oomph to the strains i have growing. of the 4 strains i have grown only the cheese before. it is delicious and has a very strong high if grown right.

- water usage has been minimal at best. i have only watered the plants once since i first re-potted prior to week 1. using 22 oz cups of water into into 2 gallons of sunshine mix. this goes to show you how much the cold weather has played havoc with this grow.

- it is wed 03/05/14. i will water today. at least 22 oz of water for each plant.

- -to do list..... finish portable panda panels, move light.

Pictures taken 03/09/14 2 days into week 7

Notes:

- i took a picture of the light in each phase (veg, flower, flower+ uv) but there wasnt much of an apparent difference in the 3
- the uv bulbs are now ON.
- the plants were fed for only the 3d time in 7 weeks. water consumption has been minimal. some of this is a result of slow growth due to cold weather. my plants always tend to use less water in the winter months. i expect to have to water them one more time using a plain water flush.
- ferts used: pure blend pro soil formula fertilizer at 1/2 the recommended dosage on the bottle.
- another crop of clones is almost ready to repot up to 3 gal pots. i will use a bit more sunshine mix when i pot up. unlike those in flower they will veg under the light for a week after they are put into the 3 gal pot.
- they have been pruned at least twice.
- the pictures below were taken 2 days into week 7

since yield / penetration of led's seems to be a big issue i went ahead and took some inexact measurements of the canopy. i do not think that this is totally relevant to this grow due to the growing conditions... cold, unenclosed grow, proper fert level tbd. i do think that yield will increase with better growing conditions but i also think that the max canopy thickness should be about 12 " ave in thickness from what i see so far. the penetration is just not there imo.

thickness of each canopy for each plant in inches as follows.

banana oger kush: 13,14, 15
hero: 13,14,16
red dog: 12,12,12,13,13
the cheese: 10,10,11,13,13

average canopy thickness = 13"
