up and running

finnally after a bit of tweeking on on my bubbleonics system and getting used to how it all works together i have seedlings that are just starting out. Set up the solar storm 400 on bloom with the uv on. Looking to switch to veg state and turn off uv in the next week or so. So far the lighting has been the easiest thing to do.

Welcome to the forums!

Why is your UVB on now?

It was suggested to me that the UV was good for seedling stage. Seedlings have now started deloping good roots with foliage so I have adjusted the lighting to veg only and am looking to do a bubbleonics flush and new solution. its been roughly 2 nd a half weeks and i have noticed the ppm rising.

That's interesting because I've only heard of it affecting trichome production and even CLW suggests turning on the UVB for the last 2-4 weeks of flowering. However, seedlings grown outdoors experience UVB for their entire life so it may not hurt them either.

YMMV...

Did my system flush and noticed good root developement. Starting to see good growth in the veg department. Upped my nutriants from seedling levels to veg levels. Im expecting the solarstorm 400 to really start showing its worth in the veg growth rate. Keeping the distantance from light to plants at right about 20"

so far so good noticed real good growth the last 10 days. I upped the time for the solar storm to 20 hours. also notice plants taking up much more water.

How long/tall do you plant to veg before flipping to 12/12?

Im looking at about 3 feet. Ive definatly noticed that the solarstorm 400 I'm using doesnt have enough coverage for the plants since they have grown so much. I had to transfer 2 of the 5 plants to another bubbleponics tub and it appears the 400 can effectivly cover 1 tub but that the light penitration is lacking when trying to cover 2. The lower areas dont seem to be getting enough light.

Yeah, that's same with all lighting; the farther away it is the more area it covers but with less power. The closer the light is the more powerful it is but it covers less area. I think you'll find that 3 feet in veg will be FAR too tall in flower for LED lights.

YMMV... ;)
