Hi all,

Time for my weekly update. As I mentioned this past week, I began the 12/12 cycle Saturday, took these pictures this morning, and they are already starting their stretch! All four plants have grown an inch in the last 2 days! The tallest one, the Northern Light Blue, has jumped to 14 inches already! All four seem really healthy now, finally, and are really starting to fill out nicely. Looking forward to seeing the flowers start soon, I am eager to see how these CLW lights work in comparison to my old T5's (I used to use 8 of them). In the veg phase, I can say that they definitely grew a lot faster, and that they had much more robust root development as well.

Here are the latest pics, you can see great secondary growth, really filling out. Three of the girls are about the same size, while the NLB is a few inches taller...I will keep a close eye on her, and may need to LST her if she gets too much taller than the others.

Weekly Update time, (a day early!!)..So after just 5 days under 12/12, two of my girls are showing their first pairs of white hairs!! I've never seen this happen so fast...also, while they have grown quickly, the same two (NLB and Blueberry) have stretched over 2 inches in the same 5 days! Just 40 days from seed...I think it's the quickest I've experienced for sure!

Growing so fast, I'm very impressed...now getting to the fun part.

As far as a question, I am noticing the blueberry has a few leaves showing nute burns...I know most of you guys grow just one strain, but what do you recommend when just one plant has special needs?? I'm guessing the extra work is why you recommend just one strain at a time ??

Thanks..ICB

Yes, one is simple but that assumes that you want that one strain for a while at least. If the BB is hot give it less food/more water next time and see if it gets better after a couple of days. If it gets worse flush it with pH adjusted tap water. Always keep an eye on the basics; pH, RH, temp, etc...

Hi All,

I'll be posting pics tomorrow, but I have three semi-urgent questions for you!

1) Where should I be placing my fan? On top, blowing across the canopy, in the middle of the plants, or at the bottom of the plants along the top of the pots? I have noticed a bit of condensation on the floor the day after watering them....and my RH indicator must have stopped working, but I am guessing it's too high? Temps are 85 during light, down to 72 in the morning before lights come back on.

2) Should I keep the fan blowing 24 hours a day, or shut it off when the lights go out? I have experimented both ways, and it doesn't seem to effect the temp changes or the condensation at all.

3) Finally, should I "lollipop" my plants, and if so, when? They have stretched and bushed out so much in the past two weeks, it's ridiculous. I want to say close to doubled in size these past two weeks since switching to 12/12 !!

I've read that SME doesn't usually recommend any trimming at all, but I don't think he's around right now...

After reading about mainlining, and seeing GR's pictures, I am definitely trying that next time....this CLW light is so very powerful, I'm sure it will be exactly what I need for top shelf results!!

Thanks for your feedback folks!!

Curt,
Even with all the probs I have had, I am still a proponent of Main-lining.

I am very please with the way, even with all the bull shit, the grow is going.

As I have said, my bud in NM has been doing this for yrs and is extremely pleased.

Hey ICB,

My fans are at canopy level. I go for a pretty strong breeze to try to make the plants stems stronger during flower. They'll be able to handle more bud weight

RH is important in flower. Mine is 40 to 50%. Don't want much more or you risk mold on the buds. Temp swing is perfect. 10 to 15 degrees b/t on and off is perfect.

I don't cut anything once I switch to 12/12. Make edibles/hash out of the fluff buds and lower stuff. Too much cutting can stress plant. Could go hermie on you which would suck.

1) It varies depending on preference and situation. Fans either remove heat, bring in CO2, circulate air and/or blow on plants to strengthen them. Where you put them depends on how many you have and what you want them to do.

2) Circulation is important, imho, but heat exchange is less so at night.

3) I don't recommend major pruning or lollipopping but that's all debatable. (never in flower) It could help with your humidity issues but so could a proper dehumidifier.

I haven't been around as much as I was due to my back and working on another project but be patient and somebody should help...

Thanks for the quick replies Rkymn, GR, and SME!

Things are looking so good, I just wanted to try to prevent any issues before things got out of hand... I decided to keep the grow room door open a bit, which has eliminated the condensation issue, at least for now.

After talking with a good friend, I think I figured out why this just popped up as an issue...due to local temp changes  , I recently shut down my central air...which was removing a lot of moisture from the air for me. I'm not sure if my forced hot air heat will be sufficient to keep things dry...it's usually so dry in my home overall, I use humidifiers to put moisture back into the air! I'm kind of in-between seasons here for a few weeks until I'm going to need the heat.

Learning as I go...but am simply amazed at how large they have grown so very quickly...other than one stretching a bit too much for my tastes, the others have simply exploded...I apologize, I am in the middle of a home repair project, and my camera is packed away...I should be back to normal this weekend, and will send new photos.

Compared to previous experience with fluorescents, this is very very impressive..

thanks again guys!

Time for my weekly update...so, I feel like a dolt, I made a rookie mistake! While in my spare room, I thought I saw a glow coming from my closet at night! And I discovered that my extension cord was emitting a yellow glow light indicating power! What an idiot! I covered it up with an old musician's favorite tool-duct tape!!

I'm at 20 days into flowering...any ideas how much damage I may have done??

The flowering seems to be progressing, but no way near as advanced as others I've seen like Rocky...is that from the light leakage? Here are some pics...I'm finding that my camcorder pics really are not as good as I would like, I think it's much better for distances than closeups...I'll be looking at other options soon.

Family Shot...the NLB was too dry, it's the biggest plant, so it makes sense that it would need more water (I think?)
