Hey all, time for the weekly update!

Thank you all for your feedback and recco's...TJ, I definitely agree that the redder the better!! I'm a medicinal user, broke my back...and love when it just takes the edge off the pain...the infamous couch lock, and anti-insomnia. I'll take my sleep in 2 hour increments at 3 in the afternoon if I have to!

So, the girls got nute burned pretty badly...the RO coming out was 5.2! I saw the first signs as I posted last week, and bam, 2 days later it was nightmarish!

Luckily, the friend who donated the LA clones to me came by and made the following observations & recommendations to me...

1) I am watering/feeding/flushing incorrectly...I haven't been using enough water when I flushed (I was using 1 gallon of RO per plant...he had me mix RO with spring water to stabilize the PH, and then flooded them with THREE gallons for each mature plant....the things were gurgling and bubbling like I've never seen), and he also recommended watering until drainage occurs prior to feeding once a week...and flushing entirely once a month...essentially at the turn to 12/12, at the halfway point, and prior to harvest.

2) I need to learn to regularly turn and handle the plants...with my current process and configuration, the plants have a front, sides, and back...

3) I need to trim the bottoms and under carriage of the plants more prior to flipping to flower

They are pretty much ready to harvest, so I'm going to try a drying technique he shared with me. I pretty much trim them directly as is, still in the soil. Then I put them back in the grow room, move the fans, keep it dark, and let them dry in the soil...naturally, as if during a drought...when the stems break instead of bend, cure them in the Cvaults.....thoughts?

So, here they are in their glory....day 58...Amber color, nice smell, and absolutely ROCK HARD buds...it's been years since I've seen anything like this...ridiculous, absolutely zero "give" when you squeeze the buds...

Here is a nice shot of the Skunk Northern Lights cross...it's very light, a lot of hairs...no where near the level of resin I am accustomed to....so little, in fact, I don't know exactly how I will tell if it is ready to harvest??

I'll post again in a few days after I trim the buds up...

For me, it's all still a learning experience...otherwise, what fun would it be?

Thank you everyone for all your advice and feedback this time around...I'll start a new journal for the next grow..entitled KUSH!!!

Curt,

They are looking just lovely, they really bulked up. They may be tested for growth hormone's. LOL

Nice grow my friend!

Man you make me feel so much better looking at your grow. I have grown and love LAC myself. I just purchased two CLW SS-440s and hope for something like you got. Great pics and grow. Direwolf

Hi Everyone...I can't believe it's been more than 2 months since I've been here!! Phew...had some serious back issues flare up (again), but thankfully things seem to be settling down again...and Thank you SME, GR8T, Calyx, DireWolf and others for your comments, kind words and suggestions.

So, let's see...these 2 LA Confidentials ended up weighing nearly 190 grams between the two of them!! It was a very even, calming sedating smoke...helped me get through a lot of pain and nausea from pain pills. I kept 2 clones alive of it for the entire 8 week flowering cycle...in a glass of water next to a light bulb!

One of them is now a "house plant", to be used for future clones...The other is in the last days of flowering in my current garden...they are both over 24 weeks old by the calendar!!

The Skunk*Northern Lights cross was just 38 grams, but was so sweet and fruity....the best tasting I've ever grown. Sooo, 228 grams/330 watts drawn = .69 g/w...closer to the ideal 1, and much better than my first grow which I believe was around .5 !!

So, my girlfriend took over the KUSH grow for me...we have Violator Kush, Black Afghani Kush, Critical Kush, CBD Magma, LA Confidential and Pineapple Chunk. Too many strains at once, and too many plants for this light in my space...four is the magic number for me and my space I think.

Sorry I wasn't able to provide any pictures or grow journals this time around...I did learn how nice it was to have "free" RO water provided via my dehumidifier...save some RO filter life!! Due to burning the LA so badly, I kept the food levels about half - 2/3rds of what was recommended, and didn't have any burn this time around!

It's actually day 53, the Black Afghani says it should be ready 50-55 days, all the others say 55-60....So, I started the flush with just pure RO three days ago and again today...I'm noticing a LOT more sweet smell than last time around...maybe strain, who knows?

Anyways, I could post pictures before I harvest if you think it's ok, SME, otherwise, I will wait until I start the next one...

Thanks for visiting!

Welcome back...it seems that spring/summer has a bunch of people bailing on various forums. :(

You can post pictures if you want but 2 month breaks aren't good for "journals" so hopefully the next one won't have such big gaps... ;)
