First impressions look good!

I must say I had some skepticism about the program before my Solar Storm 400 arrived. However, I was comforted by the customer service via email. I had concerns with shipping because I was unable to enter my phone number as I was instructed to do in order to assure the delivery. California Light Works took care of everything! I recieved my Solar Storm 400 about two weeks ago! My apoligies for not getting on here right away.
Heres what our first observation is going to consist of. I have taken on a project and the challenge is difficult. A fiend took a seed from some "GOOD" cannibis so the strain is unknown and it was left outside in a shallow pot, less than 2 inches deep and for about three weeks. So I have brought it in its own environment with the Storm. I have transplanted it and topped it both in a weeks time. I ave not given it any nutes yet due to all the stress with the root system and it also has a little fungus that will require more attention. The environment is solid so hopefully I can turn this around with the Storm. I've had an order for new seeds over a month. It was my intention to use them and still will if they get here soon. I have photos and will post them even back tracking so every can see how this led system works. Thanks for the time you took to read this post!

Getting better

It's been busy, but I will try to make up for it with pics this time. It's been four weeks and the plant looks so much better. New growth is better than I hoped! Just started feeding nutes last week. The plant responds really well and I keep the light spacing about 15-17 inches from the top. Watering is every other day. Have Happy New Year!!!

Be sure to keep an eye on the pH too, for soil you want it at about 6.5-6.8 that way you can better judge nutrient issues. ;)

The ph has been consistent @ 7.0-7.25, so I haven't had to down it..yet. My rule has been never more than 7.5, but I'm no expert either. I use tap water after it sits for 24 hrs. So should I bring the ph down still?

If your tap water is clean, use it. Do you know the ppm/EC of your water? Have you seen a water report from your source? ;)

Cannabis has different needs compared to other crops. As you can see, the sweet spot is 6.5, in soil. Above or below and you start locking out needed nutrients. So, yes, *I'd* lower it but it is your grow. ;)

YMMV...

Thanks for the info!!! I am going to lower the ph as I do wish to achieve optimum results. I have no idea about my tap water. :? That's why I just leave it out for a day to be safe. I'm going to start some seeds in a few days and i think I might hold this back and let the newbies catch up. We'll see!! I will post some pics in a few days and update. Thanks again!!!

Wish I knew the strain

Well I just used ph down yesterday. It's currently 7 and I think I'm going to try and get to 6.25 and hold that. It looks like a female so my next question is. If an average clone reaches about 80% of the moms size. With the initial neglect of this plant. Will it effect the clones growth? Of course I'm going to clone it but just curious about expectations  Still wish I knew the strain.. It looks like a cross breed. Also, I used ph down to lower the ph cause that's all I've had but reading... It seems popular using lemon juice.... I'd rather use that than the acid product I have.... But does it work??? Gotta get ready to bring in the new year. Appreciate the time you took to read this post ..until next year...peace!

Please do not create a new topic for each post, this isn't twitter. You can put all of your journal updates, here, in this topic so I don't have to keep merging them. Thanks... ;)

6.25 is a little too low, 6.5 is where you should try to hold, imho.

Clones are exact copies of the mother so they should be able to reach 100% of the size, if you allow them to grow long enough. Neglect had nothing to do with genetics so if the clones are healthy, they should be fine.

I use pH down but lemon juice is also acidic (citric acid) I don't know if I'd use that though.
Here: How can I raise or lower the pH of my soil mix?

;)

Yeah, sorry about the extra work I threw on you! :( I don't use social media like that. Never even looked at twitter. Kind of a dinosaur with technology. Anyway, the ph is still high. I got it to 6.75. I will try and keep the 6.5. While were at it. Humidity is 48-55% and temps are 72-77. Does that seem like a flexible range? Thanks for all the feedback!!! Until the next time... 8-)
