I have found that keeping them in a smaller pot for a longer period led to significant vegetation growth....conversely, I found that young plants in large pots spent a lot of their energy growing roots.

Yes, good catch, that's very true too... :D

thank you both for your advice. I greatly appreciate it.
Its been disheartening seeing little to no growth for so long.
I do regret throwing them in 3gal. so early on but I panicked.
While they were in the root plugs, the roots started to brown.
I'll get some soil ready to transplant soon.

well my journal seems to becoming to a devastating end - at least regarding the ss400.
I checked in the tent. lights on. temp in lower 70s and humidity in lower 40s.
Closed up the tent and did some reading. I was about to go to sleep but
decided to check one last time inside the tent...complete darkness!
I run the lights at night so the 'day' has really just started. I checked the outlet but that still good
the exhaust fan is running. I tried it in different outlets and nothing. I just don't have any idea why it
doesn't turn on. I know for sure the tent is not overly humid nor is it overly hot.

Well, so much for a stealth grow. Woke my wife up and her mother(visiting and the reason for the need for stealthiness) looking
for the digital ballast.

In any case, I have the plants under 250 mh conversion bulb.

I just don't know what happened to ss400.

well, after a sleepless night of worrying about the ss400. The plants seem
to be responding well to the mh light. I called clw not too long ago. Spoke with a very pleasant young
lady(took longer to dial the number than it took to get someone to answer!). She told me she'd send out
a return label. They'd look at it and send it back. Though it's was very disappointing to have the light
go out as it did, it would be totally unreasonable, I think, to never expect mechanical errors. Even this early on.

What I'm taking away from this experience is that this company supports its products.
Not to mention that it feels good to buy American made!

As soon as I get the lights back, I will swap the mh light out.

It's probably just the power supply, sometimes even new parts just go bad.

They're not cross-shipping? They used to send a new light and the customer would send the broken one back with the included label. This is a new light not something you got used, right? :?

it is a new light. I wonder if I should ask them to send a new one.

I would ask them to cross-ship. If "she" says no, ask for George. Maybe they changed the policy but they used to cross-ship.

Again, thank you for your good advice. I called and the young lady said that
As soon as I send the lights, they'll send a replacement.

I guess they changed the policy or maybe they only ship the new one first when the light is partially working... :(
