to follow up, I received the lights on Monday. I shipped the lights out to them on Thursday and clw sent out a new
one the following day - I suppose the policy is to 'cross ship' once the package is in route. Though that was quick, I honestly don't
think the plants could've made it if it weren't for the hid light back up I had. Though you'd think that this wouldn't bode so well for the lights, I was impressed with the speed and efficiency in which they handled this. Like I might've mentioned, it honestly took me longer to dial the number than it took someone, a living person, to answer the phone! She(Eleanor happens to be the young lady's name) was pleasant and
empathetic.

To counter this experience, I recently spent a good amount of money on a 'premium' grow tent. It's supposed to be made of thicker material and the metal bars are able to hold up heavy weights, you can even hang from it! Now this fancy tent, with a cute simian picture on the top, had lots of puncture holes through it, where Velcro was stitched and other areas, and so I sent out a number of emails asking for a possible exchange. Well guess what? they never emailed back. And the messages I left on voicemails were never returned. Oh, and it was very disappointing to see the big o' Made in China stamp on the box the simian pictured grow tent came in - I can't imagine the Kind of Led lights these folks would be willing to sell off as 'premium'.

I really hope this light performs well. I haven't been in a hurry to swap out the HID. The plants seem very happy.
At this point, I don't know if I should continue with this journal.

don't give up so easily Will

you'll be very happy with the results from the SS400. it will definitely blow away the 250 w MH you have. i think the key is to allow the light to perform at it's best. what i mean by that is to keep your plants short and keep your grow area the correct size (2x3 is optimal). if you grow 5 foot tall plants or if your grow tent is 4x4, the results will not be what you expect.

although it won't replace a 600 w HID, it will give great results as far as trichome covered buds that are quite potent. and for your personal stash, that is what you want: quality over quantity.

good luck! RKY

can't believe it's been a couple of weeks since the last update. A few days after the last post, and taking rky's advice, I swapped the lights(not giving up!). Since there was a period of time that the plants got the MH, it is difficult to attribute their survival entirely on the ss400. So I added a new plant. The seed broke ground on the 11th and has only been under the led. I didn't plan on having four plants, was worried about overcrowding. But at this point it's just not an issue - they aren't getting huge.
I would imagine that another rookie mistake that I've made is to have four different strains that I've started at different times.
Or is that not an issue? The other doubt that I have is whether I should've included an auto with the others. The white widow auto is at 39 days, showing flowers, and only 5".
