2nd Solar Storm

Just joined the GFP and received the SolarStorm yesterday. This is an additional SS for the grow room.
It's been a full time project getting the grow area wired and ready for production. Now that I have this light I'm adding a second light rail for it.
I started a little more than a month ago so I have some White Widow that are about 4 to 7 inchs and some Haze X that 3 weeks. They all seem to be doing very well. I'll post some pics later to find out what you think.

Welcome to the forums!

How big is the room, soil or hydro, which SS did you get? We want details! ;)

Here's some more details on my setup. The room is about 8'x18' and about 8 ft sloping ceiling. I have 2 of the newer 440 Solar Storms setup on light rails. I'm looking forward to seeing how this light performs using the veg and flower (+UV) settings.
As I said in my first msg I'ms still working on getting this grow room setup.
This weekend I installed rigid foam and that going to take care of the wind blowing thru like a wind tunnel. Also I still have to get the electrical done.

And here a shot of the plants. About 4 and 6 weeks.

Can't you put two lights on one rail? The room size is huge for two SS400w lights, even with movers but that doesn't mean you use the whole space for plants and I do see a table, at least, taking up some space. ;)

Keep on keeping on...

Well lets just say that the grow room is a work in progress. As far as the led's are concerned this is mainly a evaluation of what can be done with this new technology. I Started with the Solar Storm and a Solar Flare and the plan is to add from there when it time. When I started the "grow room" it was actually a shade-screen enclosed patio. Oh and there was one outlet there too. Just this last week I installed rigid foam insulation. There's been some fairly cold days/nights and I think it stunted the growth of the plants.
I also pull the plastic sheeting and painted the remaining walls white.
The plants where being shaded by the fan leaves to where there was no light getting in (as you can see in the previous pic). So I trimmed. That made a difference. I had measured everything the day before I did the first trim. (I only trimmed 4 plants the first time) By that evening I could see the tops react to the new light. So I trimmed everything. Removed all the large (huge) fan leaves.
They're looking so much better so today I measured again. 2 of the HazeX added 2" and one 1.5" and 1". The Widow didn't do as well but the taller one added and inch.

So I thought that after the cold shutting things down over the last 2 or 3 weeks that it was quit an improvement. Now it should be back to growing as usual.

With any kind of luck I hope to get the electrical done sometime this coming week. (What a pain!)

Finished with the electrical, finally. Now that that is out of the way I can get back to growing.
Did a little trimming. Open up the canopy a little. Also topped about half of them.
We've still been having a cold spell here off and on. The temp of the room drops to a little below 60 at night so I turned on some heat to warm it up a little.
I tested the soil and found it to be a little low. pH6.0. So I tested for nitrogen and potash and it looks like it low on potash. Have to check that out.
All my ventilation is up and running but have to watch the temp.
Here's new pics...

Sorry haven't posted for a while. Busy, busy. Got another SS440 to add to the mix. Went to the 12/12 cycle. Since the cold cycle is mostly through then the plants have started to grow.
I did a flush for the first time 4 or 5 days ago after getting a very high EC reading and a couple of days later it was back to normal.
Then about sat. a couple of the leaf got this discoloration on them. And the next day it affected a leaf on another plant. So fat that's it.

I also installed a 6K Btu A/c to keep things cool when the desert starts to turn into an oven. Turned on the ventelation finally.
Now to be on the look out for the males.

If you get much more yellowing I would suggest adding Cal-Mag. However the vast majority looks good to me I would keep on , keeping on! :D

Still have that problem with the brown leaves. It showed up on another plant but this time it was the top fan leaves of the plants top.

Yesterday when the lights came on the blue lights on one panel didn't come on. Only the red leds. And they're bright. That's how it got my attention. The light on that side of the plants was very red, red.
So I called CLW and I'm going there tomorrow and make a trade for a replacement. Then I'm going to see if they can give me a tour of the warehouse. I'll bring my camera. Get some pics.
So does anyone know what's going on with the browning of the leaves? I've been watering regularly. I've got them on Elements Bloom A&B and Cal/Mag. I flushed them about a week or 10 days ago.
Maybe I just splashed some nut solution on them...?
Here's the latest view.

The leaf cupping is a bad sign too; there are multiple symptoms. How about pH? What's the pH of the water/nutrients going in and running out? How strong (EC/PPM) are you feeding?

I'm not familiar with your nutrients or soil but I assume they have plenty of micronutrients to go with the NPK? I'm leaning towards pH causing a lockout.

When you take your tour, say "hi" to George and Brandon (show those pics to Brandon, he's smart) for me. ;)
