SS400 third grow

Hi y'all and you too SME ;), started a new grow. Beans popped on 7/19 and put in solo Hempy cups, transplanted on 7/31 into 2 gal 50-50 Perlite/Coco.

At present I have plants, 1 WW fem and 6 Cotton Candy fem/Blackberry and Grape Ape (CC/BBGA cross, not sure of the sex. Going to veg till I can determine sex then select the best 3 CC/BBGA and the WW fem, if for fact she is a fem. Using Lucas formula for Hempy. I will cover the tops of the buckets with about 1 inch of coco when the plants are tall enough for blocking out the lite to the Perlite/Coco for preventing algae growth.

Real busy now but hope to keep you all posted.

By the way my last grow, 1 WW and 3 Nirvana Ice, yield was WW 2.5 zips and the Ice was 4 zips.

The CLW SS400 worked great but did not get the yield I expected. It was all my fault as I over trimmed during mainlining thus reducing yield. Was expecting 10 to 12 zips. Oh well, will not make that mistake again.

Hey Rocky, thanks, glad your still around.
Yes I am using the same cabinet, and the only upgrade is I have replaced my 4" Phresh carbon filter and Wind Tunnel exhuast fan with a 6" Can filter and 420 cfm Max-fan. I am considering trying a 250 or 400 W MH or Sodium lamp for my next grow. I know SME will be glad to hear that, ;), of course I may be moving within the next yr+ to a more 420 friendly state or country.

This will be my first grow with the Coco Coir/Perlite mix. I know to watch the cal/mag and that the coir will hold water longer, so I will need to insure not to overwater. If anyone has experiance with the coir/perlite I would appreciate any suggestions and help.

I will be treating this grow different and not remove as much fan leaves as I did last grow and I am not sure if I will end up with three or four plants, space is limited as you know.

I just took down my first complete cycle. I had difficulty getting going but once I had Pineapple Express seated thing began to look up. I use ebb and drain system. I use two plants in separate buckets. If one dies the other fills in. I use Kmart lawn nutes and bloom. I got 11 ounces dry. I was knocked out by the size of remaining plant (It broke the plywood holder and collapsed on to itself.)
The key is get it going, Keep it going and see what you Get. Adjust and try :geek: again.

TJ,

What is your grow medium, size of containers, type of lights, size of grow area (tent, room or cabinet), etc, etc?
I too am using GH dry nutes + additional Cal/Mag, heard it is good to use extra with coir.
I basically follow the Lucas recommendation, but I do add some extra products during the flowering stage.

Sounds like you had a very successful grow, congrats!

2 5 Gallon Buckets from Home depot
SS400 :ugeek:
Reservoir 16 gallon tub
I pump & tubing with a T to split water for buckets
Kmart Lawn
Kmart Bloom
Cal mag
Rock (bloom additive)
46 inch across 24 deep closet

Most important ingredient? PATIENCE!
Sometime it all works (16 O)
Sometimes it fails (1 1/2 O) Bugs, mold, pump failure ect......
Just keep at it. Once you score on the high end it is all worthwhile.

Hey GR8...looking great as always my man! Are you still planning on mainlining again? I have gone cutting twice on my last grow, netting 4 "main colas"...kind of a 4 cylinder if you will...

I read you mention that you thought you over pruned last grow? I seem to struggle with the right amount of trimming myself...it seems regardless of how much I trim, I always end up with a fluffy undercarriage..

As SME always says, it's an Art, right?

Thanks SME,

I am liking these coir/Perlite Hempy buckets, post more pics soon. I need to figure out how to get the pictures below 1 m while taking them, not have to re-size each picture.
