Hi everyone...

I sit here shocked and absolutely freaked out after taking a good look at my garden today. I consider myself very familiar with the cannabis plant now, and extremely familiar with cannabis flowers, having been a fan of High Times magazines back in the day....and perhaps a little bit of up close and personal experience over the decades.

That said, I found a RECTANGULAR bud on my Fruity Chronic Juice plant...it's a secondary bud site on a plant that supposedly is just a single bud Indica. Of course, this is the ONE plant that I've grown that did not come directly from a breeder's packaging, but is from seeds from my distributor included as a "freebie".

But more to the point...its a RECTANGLE! Its got two long sides and two slightly curved small sides. The leaves are all straight in a row, lying down flat...eerily more like fur....its downright spooky to look at. I'm torn between wanting to get rid of it, being on the cover of High Times, or wondering if it would even be safe to smoke if it is some kind of genetic anomaly !!

A few years back, say 15 or so, a friend grew and placed 2.5 inch glass tubes over his cola as they started to stretch and grew them out. It was cool, they looked like push up ice cream bars. There was some mold on some parts but overall they were neat, wouldn't do it because of the mold.

I too get pressing against the side of the cabinet and smash's the buds some.

Hey Thanks TJ and GR! I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts with me. This does make sense, I've seen plants grow through and around objects a lot.

Unfortunately, this bud is square in the absolute middle of the grow, with taller, normally shaped colas sitting around it and above it...but this rectangle literally stands alone, untouched by anything...as it has been for it's entire life cycle.

Next update I will take a family shot, showing it "au naturale" in all its glory.

I've been all over the web trying to find pictures or even conversations about this...and so far, nothing!

Just so weird...If I ever came across anything like this in the last 50 years, I would have remembered for sure.

Dude, I dunno, but that is a weird looking bud alright. My first thought is that it looks like it a FIM'd bud, instead of a growth top. Did you perhaps at some point go trimming in there, and accidentally nip the top of her off while she was just developing? Perhaps after pistil formation, because it looks like the pistils on the side are orange, but the ones on the top look newer and yellow.
