California light works customer service feedback

Hi guys! It's been a while since Ive posted here, but I had to let everyone know what a wonderful experience I had.

I am one of the original grower feedback guys, and have had my light 3 years now, and up until my accident, my light has worked flawlessly. Everything Ive grown with this light has turned out exceptional, and is the envy of everyone in town.

So what happened was, one of my light hangers FAILED. At the time I was supplementing the outskirts of the room with a 600 hps in a cool tube, and when the hanger failed the Solarstorm dropped to where it was against the hps. To add insult to injury, as the light fell it unplugged my fan for the cool tube. Now I think it would have been fine had the fan not come unplugged, but since it did, by the time I got back to it, the Solarstorm had shutdown, and the face of it had melted all over the cool tube. I was heart broke.

I didnt know what to do. I thought to myself.....Should I drill out the rivets, and see if I can fix it? Im pretty smart, surely I can figure this out. (I have some pretty extreme anxiety when it comes to rationalizing)(Tumor related) So I decided to contact CLW, to see what I need to look for, or test. When I called CLW, I was greeted by the sweetest gal on the other end. (We'll call her Helen) First she was able to calm my nerves, and made me feel like my problem was her main priority. Then she suggested I send the light back, and let them see what they can do. Helen really made me feel like everything was going to be ok, and that they stand behind there products, so off to the Post Office I went.

Helen was in constant contact with me via telephone, and email through out the whole process, and within about 10 days my light was on its way back to me completely covered by warranty!

I was pretty happy! You just dont run into companies that honor there word anymore. My usual experience is "Oh we cover everything, but what broke on yours". Not the case with CLW! I was totally expected to have to pay for the damage, and being on a fixed income, thats not easy, so I was extremely happy when she said they were covering everything. I wanted to kiss her!

So, in closing. Thank you soooo much Helen, and everyone else at California Light Works! You have a customer, and advocate for life! h :D

Desperately wanted to press a like button!

You broke but they fixed the $800 light. An unusual story in these days.

You are correct TJ. I believe I paid $999+50 for shipping, but ya they honored there warranty even though they didnt have to! It wasnt there fault the stupid light hanger broke. IT was one of the typical ones everybody uses, so be careful if you are using them. Something internal must have went, cause now it doesnt lock at all. Lucky I had 2 on that light, or it would have done even more damage. The repaired light is now in place with welded chain.

I also think they did some sort of upgrade, or spectrum change, because before when I turned on the Solarstorm next to the hps before, it would turn the room pink. Now when I turn it on, there is hardly any color change at all. Does anybody have a newer model SS here, and can verify my thoughts?. h

Hi,
Been reading the threads here for a while. I was even going to post my first LED journal in here too, still may participate here eventually.
Ah, but the frequent weather changes seem a little bit brisk for my liking.

Bought my SolarStorm 880 a few weeks ago already. It does cast a very purple hue, in all three configurations...
I had to take mine down, for a few days, because of heavy weight issues. Now it's hung up in a slightly precarious configuration, with a safety cable as back up.
Anyways, this has been Great news from you, all glad here, to hear they stand behind their products and services so well, for us.

I'm sure that George, Brandon, and even Eleanor, DOWN THERE at CLW, will be pleased to read about your current happiness shared here.

Take care of those hangars... ;-) inspect them often. These tiny winch~hangars are only a nice convenience(?)
I actually much prefer chains, as you can simply use the links as a measure.

Thats a wicked story ! Its funny cause i went to my tent last night opened it up and noticed some flickering. Kinda strange because the UV bulbs on my one SS400 are both shot ? Strange to me cause usually those bulbs go one at a time.... or has anyone had them go both at the same time? i guess i ll have to call CLW and see what they have to say...

Sorry for the delays. My notifications must not be on.

By different I mean not as red, more purple. I really don't use it for veg. I have a seperate area for that.

I'm sticking with chain too. The light is just to heavy for those stupid rope ratchet thingy's.
