So im planning on getting one of the solar storms but I want to make sure I get the right one. I want to know if a single solar storm 400 will cover the space. I have a 2x4 tent and I want to have 4 meduim sized plants. Will I need to supplement with another light? Yur help is much appreciated. Thanks.
The SS400w will perform better in a 2x3 area than a 2x4 area. 4' is too long for that light, imho...
The problem isn't exactly the power of the light it's shape of the room; square is better than rectangle and the longer the rectangle the worse it becomes. 2 lights would cover a 2x4 rectangle better than one light. 2x3 is still a rectangle but it's much less of a problem than 2x4. 1x8 would be even worse although it's the same square footage; you'd want 6-8 smaller lights to cover that.

Ok then what I will probably do is get the 400 and most likely 2 of the kessil h150 magenta's to hang on either side of the ss400. Im trying to maximize the yield for the space I have. I can occupy a 4x4 space (yet fingers crossed)
I'd skip the kessils and just use less space for now then but it's your money/grow.

How are you going to use that space? Veg, flower or both?

I'd say that you have a few options if you want to use CLW products.
1) 3 x 200w SolarFlare full-cycle lights (61.875w/sqft) (no UVB boost) 2) 1 x SS400w + 2 x SF100w full-cycle (59.375w/sqft) 3) 1 x SS400w + 2 x SF200w full-cycle (80w/sqft)
You'd have to check pricing to figure out which would be cheapest. If options 1 and 2 are close to the same then option 2 is a better blend of spectra. Option 3 is a bit more extreme but as long as you can deal with the heat; more light is usually better.
